CAMPAIGN UPDATE - September 20, 2025
Friends,
It has been so long since I have communicated with you at your door or on the phone. I have tons to say, but I will be quick.
Firstly, Thank You so much for your support!
My website is fully operational and can be seen at www.ILikeMike.ca and the online Survey is still active so please let me know your top concerns, if you have not already.
Here is the progress so far of the campaign:
- I was the first candidate to register.
- I have been door knocking for 8 months.
- My team has dropped over 65,000 pieces of literature to every door and now we have just 15,000 pieces of literature literature left to distribute and every door will have received two separate pieces of literature is hitting every door.
- We received hundreds of responses to our survey hearing your concerns.
- I have developed a very detailed policy platform that can be seen on my website as of Monday, September 22, 2025.
- I have knocked over 13,000 doors.
- My team has made over 15,000 Phone calls.
- We have sent out over 8,000 emails to residents in Ward 12.
- Signs are popping up all over Ward 12.
Detailed polling shows that it is a clear two way race between myself and Sarah Ferguson (Evan Spencer's former Assistant).
I NEED VOLUNTEERS! - We can do this! I just need your help with phone calls, literature dropping and door knocking. Just 3 hours of your time will make all the difference. Please call my Campaign Office at 587-315-9664 or email info@ILikeMike.ca
Once again, thank you for your support and request a sign at https://www.ilikemike.ca/request-a-sign/

PS - The full policy platform will be up by Monday, September 22, 2025. Some policy solutions are as follows:
TAXATION & COST CONTROL - I would work for a Municipal Taxpayer Protection Act which will cover all aspects of governance at City Hall such as taxes beyond inflation and also making it so that all major items must
be approved as a ballot item. Organizational Review - Conducting a detailed review of all departments and expenditures to eliminate waste, duplication, and unnecessary red tape.
Zero-Based Budgeting - This budgeting reviews every department function in a comprehensive manner and all expenditures. Zero-Based Budgeting requires the budget request be justified in complete detail by each division manager starting from the zero-base. Residential Property Taxes – Reforming the current Market Value Assessment system is critical and tax decreases are indeed possible.
SAFETY / CRIME - I believe in proper funding for the police. A Deployment Audit will allow us to determine how much time officers are spending behind a desk doing paper work and how much time they are spending out on the front lines fighting crime. We need our officers combating actual crime including at our C-Train stations. It is time we had a Councillor that shared our conservative values ranging from: Repealing Blanket Rezoning, Green Line support, Road Exits, Term Limits, Council Oversight, Contract Transparency, Reduction of In-Camera Meetings, Pension Review, Public / Private Task Force, Reducing Red Tape, Supporting Firefighters, Stench Mitigation, Opposing New Taxes and addressing Non Residential Property Taxes to giving Seniors a tax break. Please see my website at www.ILikeMike.ca for a complete list of detailed solutions.
